Waste & Recycling Professional Services

In response to the requirement in England to collected food waste separately on a weekly basis from March 2025, there will be a need for some local authorities to procure food waste treatment services.

Local Partnerships has revised the Defra waste infrastructure delivery programme (WIDP) standard contract for waste infrastructure procurement to assist local authorities to procure new food waste treatment infrastructure on a regional basis. The new standard form contract takes into consideration lessons learnt from live food waste projects in Wales and operational residual waste contracts to redress issues that commonly occur during the construction, commissioning and operational phases.

The purpose of this seminar is to inform local authorities that the standard form contract will be available to them whilst highlighting the key changes made and the reasons for the changes.
