LARAC - The Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee
LARAC, The Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee, was formed in 1985 to represent the then-emerging voice of local government recycling officers. Full Membership is open to any local authority within the UK. We represent local authority views in waste and recycling issues, and we are run by an Executive of 20 serving local authority waste management officers. We have members from authorities in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales and associates from the Channel Islands.LARAC works hard for its members and sits on numerous industry working groups and responds to Government consultations. LARAC Executive members regularly speak at seminars and conferences as well as liaising with other industry groups and organisations on a more informal basis, always representing the local authority case. We also supply wide-ranging information provision for our members via our magazines, website and conferences.
