The Vehicle Recyclers’ Association (VRA) is the UK trade body representing vehicle dismantlers, salvage agents, metal recyclers, and associated businesses such as auction houses, recovery operators, and equipment suppliers. Founded in 1943 as the Motor Vehicle Dismantlers' Association (MVDA), it was renamed in 2018 to reflect the broader scope of its members' activities. The VRA promotes professionalism, ensures legal compliance, and sets standards to build consumer confidence and protect the environment. It provides advice and guidance, represents members’ interests, and works closely with UK and EU regulators and industry sectors. Membership is open to businesses of all sizes, provided they meet legal and Association requirements, including adherence to the VRA Code of Practice.
