Jacob leads the ESA and is responsible for strategy and operations. In his role as Executive Director, working with and reporting to the ESA’s Board of Directors, Jacob sets and oversees delivery against the ESA’s strategic priorities. Jacob is the ESA’s most senior policy officer and represents the organisation at the highest levels across relevant Government Departments, media organisations and stakeholders – serving as the primary interface between the ESA’s board and key policy-makers. Before joining the ESA originally as an economist, Jacob worked in the City of London as an investment analyst.
