Mark Sommerfeld has managed policy and regulation across both generation and retail renewable energy projects for over ten years. He joined the Association for Renewable Energy and Clean Technology (REA) in 2015 and is Deputy Director of Policy, which includes coordinating the REA's advocacy work on bioenergy and better utilisation of biowaste resources. The REA advocates for a thriving circular economy, along with realising the potential of Advanced Conversion Technologies and applications for chemical recycling. He is an Alumni of Cambridge University and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leaders, as well as a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
