Patrick is responsible for ESA policy issues relating to dry recyclables, biowaste and waste electricals (WEEE). In particular, Patrick coordinates the ESA’s various workstreams surrounding the implementation of Defra’s Resources and Waste Strategy reforms – looking at the commercial, operational and regulatory requirements of Extended Producer Responsibility, collection consistency (Simpler Recycling) requirements and Deposit Return Schemes, alongside other existing and emerging requirements.
