Richard Jenkins has 25 years’ experience in the waste sector and has been Chief Executive Officer of Esken Renewables since June 2020.

Esken Renewables is a leading biomass fuel supplier, converting around 1.2 million tonnes per year of UK sourced waste wood into fuel to generate UK renewable energy.

As CEO, Richard provides strong leadership to develop and implement the business’ growth strategy. His primary focus is on strengthening our core business, overseeing the development of wider waste to energy streams and enhancing relationships with all key stakeholders.

Prior to joining Esken Renewables, Richard held senior roles at Viridor and Suez.

Richard was elected to the WRA Board in March 2022.
