Originally trained as a chemical engineer, Simon has been an environmental consultant for nearly 25 years, with a particular focus on sustainability, material flow and life cycle assessment (LCA). As SLR Europe’s co-lead for Waste & Circularity, Simon helps clients get to grips with their materials usage, measuring their consumption and helping them explore efficiencies, to systematically eradicate waste and achieve the maximum utilisation for all materials. He has also helped clients explore circular business models and understand their possible financial implications. Simon has been performing LCAs (and wider multi-criteria analyses) since 2005, and these days he peer-reviews almost as many studies as he leads. His extensive LCA knowledge enables him to advise clients on the climate change and other environmental impacts and benefits of their products and services, identify hotspots in the supply chain and determine the most preferred environmental options.
