We are excited to invite you to our upcoming digital roundtable, part of the ESS 2050 Digital Webinar Series, where leading experts and industry professionals will discuss the results of the National Environmental Services Survey. This insightful discussion will delve into current attitudes towards environmental sustainability and explore how these insights might shape future policies.
What to Expect:
The National Environmental Services Survey, conducted in association with The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), The Environmental Services Association (ESA), Groundwork, and ESS Expo, has garnered 1,498 responses from environmental professionals across the UK. The survey highlights critical issues such as:
- Credibility of Carbon Offsetting Schemes: 80% of respondents expressed concerns about the transparency and integrity of these schemes.
- Prevalence of Greenwashing: 81% believe greenwashing is a significant issue, with many suggesting that some carbon offsetting schemes may contribute to this problem.
- Biggest Environmental Concerns: Climate change and global warming (32%), environmental policy and governance (15%), and waste management and the circular economy (13%).
- Barriers to Net-Zero Goals: Financial constraints (44%) and unsupportive government policies (36%) are seen as major obstacles.
